Agency Partner of the Year: Detective Jacob Welsh
Detective Sergeant Jacob Welsh is a valuable and long-standing member of the SOS Child Advocacy Center Multidisciplinary Team, an active participant in SOS Strong in 2021, and never hesitates to provide an empowering leading and helping hand with SOS staff and client needs. He has helped the SOS Safety Committee and SOS Leadership Staff to create safety protocols and appropriate training related to safety in the new SOS, Inc. location.
Volunteer of the Year: Jacob Stutzman
Jacob has been a CASA volunteer since 2018 and has served 6 children to date. Jacob takes it upon himself to provide exceptional support and advocacy. He quickly discerns their individual needs and moves efficiently to provide key information, recommendations and puts in extra effort to make things happen. Not only does Jacob do a wonderful job as an advocate, but he also volunteers to help with projects, presenting at our pre-service training class, and participating in SOS Strong. He has a kind heart and shows appreciation and respect for those he works with.
Donors of the Year: Steve & Bobbi Sauder
Steve and Bobbi Sauder have been longtime supporters of SOS. As the SOS Stronger Together Capital Campaign began to develop, Steve and Bobbi were immediately onboard and suggested the perfect building for our new location. We couldn’t be happier to have this building and the support of KVOE at our side. Steve and Bobbi continue to keep SOS in their giving plan and in their hearts.
Legacy Award Winners: Don & Robbie Hill
Over the years, the Hills have been involved with and supported several community organizations including SOS. Robbie has served as a rape victim advocate, SOS board member, Child Assault Prevention presenter, and a CASA volunteer. Don and Robbie have believed in the mission of SOS since its inception and continue to be involved in our organization, including our SOS Stronger Together Capital Campaign. They appreciate living in a community where people care about one another and do their part to make things better than they found them.
SOS Heroes For Hope:
We are so proud of our SOS Heroes For Hope! These individuals spread awareness about SOS services, prevention education, and statistics to help shine light on these important issues. Together, they raised an incredible $50,500 for SOS! Additionally, we recognized Lisa Hayes for the most money raised and Vicky Lyon for the most individual donors to support their campaign. They are all true heroes in our eyes!
Hope-A-Palooza:
Our 2022 Hope-A-Palooza was a night of celebration and hope. We are excited to announce that we were able to raise over $47,000 for our programs and services during our event! Combined with our Heroes For Hope and a few more donations that came in overnight, SOS raised a total of over $97,500! These fundraisers are crucial to our budget for the year ahead because we cannot function on grant funding alone. Thank you to everyone who attended and all those who support our efforts!
