Professionally trained advocates provide assistance for victims of sexual and domestic violence, stalking and human trafficking. Advocates meet with these individuals, listen to fully understand the nature of their abuse, help to identify specific risk factors and discuss a variety of safety measures they can choose to pursue. All services are free and confidential.
Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) provides highly-trained volunteer advocates in Lyon and Chase Counties to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children involved in the court system. CASA volunteers uncover facts and make recommendations to the court in the child’s best interest.
The CVEC offers supervised visitation or monitored exchanges in a safe, neutral environment for children and their families. With a friendly, nurturing atmosphere, the CVEC focuses on the safety and well-being of every child. The CVEC is open seven days a week. Referrals from court, community agencies and individuals are accepted.
The CAC receives case referrals from law enforcement or the Kansas Department for Children and Families (DCF) regarding cases of alleged child abuse or neglect to facilitate a child disclosure interview for prosecution purposes. The CAC then facilitates an informed multidisciplinary community partner team that monitors case progression for a victim-centered resolution.
